Opening of Taekwondo Club
Quality education and healthy lifestyle are the core values at our school. In February Georgian-American School of Tbilisi introduced Taekwondo in addition to the existing sports club activities. The Korean Kukkiwon Dispatch Master Lee Duk Hwi, who has been living in Georgia since 2018 to promote Korean martial arts in collaboration of Georgian Taekwondo Federation, trains students at our school as well. The club will allow students to learn the fundamentals of Taekwondo, such as basic blocks, kicks and self-defence techniques.
Master Lee has a 12-yearl-long international experience. Prior Georgia he served as the national coach in South Africa and Indonesia.
Taekwondo is a Korean art of self-defence and literally means “The art of hand and foot”. Tae in Korean means foot, Kwon means fist and Do stands for arts.
Taekwondo teaches not only self-defense techniques, but also the value of cultivating a healthy mind, a competitive spirit, and perseverance.
